Health. Dont take it for granted.

One of the major things must be our health, how many people stop to think and take time out for check-ups. Must admit i must be one of the worst. i still think i am that twenty year old who can still live his life with the best of them. I met an old friend the other day who i had not seen for a couple of years and i was astonished to see how old he looked, he might have thought the same about me, but this made me relise that maybe my superman cape had fallen off and in fact father time does indeed catch up with all of us in the end.

Being a person who has had a family member struck down with cancer and who was lucky it was found in time, has only recently made me think i should be taken more care with my health. I read about John Hartson and how upon finding he had a lump, he just ignored it and proceeded to even laugh and joke about it. It was only later when he became really ill that it was found he had cancer. You could argue it is his own fault but even still he now has a the biggest battle of his life to come.

Being a person who visits the doctors as often as i do the church, the last time i saw my doctor was over six years ago, and in that time i have been to three funerals, i think it is time i went for a check up. I have been suffering with a bad shoulder (wont go into the details) for what seems like a year now and the missus who when anybody has an ailments gives her prognosis, (it's amazing what watching ER can do for you) has told me to get it sorted out as it could be something serious.

So with that in mind i got her to ring up and book me an appoinment. Tomorrow i will finally get down to the matter of the problem.

Life is too short, lets not take it for granted.
