Spent the evening watching television, as usual I was on the pc, which means in my household the missus takes control of the remote, l get the your on that so can't be watching the television.
I had done remarkably well hiding the remote until 8.00, that had given me just enough time to watch the Super league Grand final, a good game dominated by defences which was made even better by my bet on Leeds winning coming up trumps.
After being asked numerous times were the remote was, to which i replied l don't know, it was the daughter who would come to her mothers aid and grass me up by getting the remote from under the strategically placed racing post. Now l not only had the pleasure of watching the X factor i had to endure Strictly Come dancing during the add breaks. After looking up from the pc to hear the singers warble i could not help but notice how crap they really were, but were told after each performance by a certain Louis Walsh that they were made for the show and it was a great performance. (Now i must admit to having watched the X factor before, its something i am not proud of but you just get stuck in a rut and it's hard to get out of). These were not great performances and they were defiantly not made to entertain
The only bright spots in this two hour bonanza of music were Lucie Jones and the best of the night Danyl Johnson who after giving the best performance was then it seemed outed on national tv by Danni Minogue.
Let not forget while all this was going on i had the pleasure of watching Phil Tufnell try to gyrate his hips in a sexual manner while trying to do some sort of dance, but as the channel once again went back to ITV i learned that not only after two hours of watching this we now had the pleasure of waiting 24 hours before we know who was getting kicked off.
To cap it all my daughter of seven years wants to vote for fecking John and Edward???
After all this had finished it was onto Blade 2 on channel four, a film l actually like, after the missus had gone to bed, it was here that l was left to my own devices and now l was in charge of the remote. I now found myself flicking between the film and the progress of the Argentina football team, all was going well 0-0 at HT, no bet on the game just the hope of seeing the Fat boy cry.
The film finished just after 12.00 and after seeing Blade conquer evil it was now onto the baseball, in game that saw my beloved Cardinals fighting in the last chance saloon and needing to win against the Dodgers to avoid elimination from the world series..
I was now flicking between the baseball and the football, Cardinals were losing and Argentina were winning, not a good end to the night, then l heard a ping, anyone who uses futbol24 will know that after a goal is scored it makes a noise to alert you the goal being scored, it was an equaliser for Peru, get in there, so the tv went back on sky sports and now maybe just maybe i could see the cheating Maradona get what he deserves .
Three minutes left in the game and he would be blubbering like a baby, but once again he seems to dodge a bullet and up steps Palermo with a winner three minutes into injury time and saves the fat ones bacon.
Its just a pity, that water was not a bit deeper.
To compound a miserable end to the night, the Cardinal lose 5-1 and are knocked out of the baseball.
The only way it could have been any worse is if l had lost money on either.
