Humbug.

Well on Wednesday l celebrated my birthday, well not sure celebrated is the right word, it seems the older l get now the more l try to sweep my birthdays under the carpet. I even got a cup of tea in bed, it says something when the only thing you get excited about while lying in bed is a cup of tea.

Its only a matter of time before the missus finally gets her wish and puts up the Christmas tree, l am hoping its done when l am out but with the box being put in the garage, l think l will have to carry it in doors. Another thing l am not looking forward too, not really ventured into the garage after the mice episodes http://thechroniclesofruddock.blogspot.com/2009/09/hopefully-not-coming-to-neighbourhood.html and when l have its only to check on the trap, which reminds me that chocolate should really be changed now. I dread to think what would happen if l was to open the box and a little friend came out running across the floor.

The energy saver is now in full swing and working very well but what with Christmas coming up, and the Christmas tree's lights which could light up a small village in Somalia on a dark night. Discussions are on going if we are to have lights around the window. I am just glad she has not come up with lighting the outside house up and asking the local animal welfare centre if we could purchase to reindeer to stick on the front lawn. It can only be a matter of time.

Not sure if l am Victor Meldrew or Ebeneezer Scrooge maybe l am both all rolled into one but l guess as the missus tells me l need to lighten up and enjoy it. Which l am trying to do even though l have a general hatred of Christmas, l love the look on the childrens faces when they open their presents. The older one gets the toys while l let the younger one play with the boxes and wrapping paper. Kills two birds with one stone.

Not sure what it is about this time of year but all of a sudden the candles come out, at no other time of the year apart from now would the missus put candles on the tables, l would not mind as it saves on the electricity but we still have the fecking lights on as well which l can't work out at all. The candles are placed next to the nut bowl, fecking nut bowl?? No one eats nuts??

We go shopping and buy nuts and twiglets sausages on bacon mince pies, all the things families buy at this time of year. Why is it we only buy these things now because at no other time would l have a craving for a mince pie or to eat a twiglet. You go shopping and people are loading trolleys up like its the blitz (no l am not that old) Of course people have family coming round but its amazing how people go over the top and pile the food up.

I am afraid l leave buying things till the last minute, l am never sure what to buy and in truth these days you really struggle to buy the whole family presents for under thirty quid. The pound shop while being a great service provider can only do so much.

On Monday its the missus birthday, Not sure what to do this year as l cant remember which one l chose last year, so its either KFC or Mcdonald's and if she is nice we can eat in.

Maybe l will let her decide this year.

Roll on January

Christmas bah humbug..
